  POLICY STATEMENT

The career development services provided at each of Delgado Community College's campuses are available to all students and alumni. Students at the off-campus sites and learning centers are encouraged to avail themselves of the career development services offered at any of the campuses. Non-traditional students, students with disabilities, single parents, students in non-traditional majors for their gender, and other special population students who may need additional assistance to overcome obstacles are also encouraged to utilize the services of the offices in reaching their educational/vocational objectives.

The College's career development services offices work in conjunction with the student employment services offices providing career exploration opportunities and aptitude/interest testing. Students are directed to the student employment services offices for formal job search assistance and job acquisition skills development.

Employers are encouraged to interview students through the student employment services offices; to list job openings with the offices; and to participate in the student employment services job fairs held on campus each year. Employers must provide the College with policy statements attesting to their nondiscriminatory employment and hiring policies and practices.
