POLICY & PROCEDURES MEMORANDUM
POLICY STATEMENT
Effective as of the 1995-1996 Delgado Community College Catalog, Associate Degree recipients are eligible to graduate with Honors and Presidential Honors if they meet the requirements contained in this memorandum.
PROCEDURES & SPECIFIC INFORMATION
1. Purpose
To describe Delgado's requirements for students to graduate with distinction in Associate Degree Programs.
2. Scope and Applicability
This policy and procedures memorandum applies to all Associate Degree graduates of Delgado Community College.
3. Graduation with Honors--Associate Degree Recipients
A. Presidential Honors (3.800 - 4.000 cumulative grade-point average)
To graduate with Presidential Honors, students in Associate Degree Programs must have:
(1) Earned a cumulative grade-point average within the range of 3.800 and 4.000 in all course work attempted at all institutions of higher education; (Note: Grades deleted through repeat/delete and academic renewal will not be included.)
(2) Completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at Delgado Community College; and
(3) Completed 12 of the final 15 semester hours in required courses at Delgado Community College.
B. Honor Graduates (3.500 - 3.799 cumulative grade-point average)
To graduate with Honors, a student must have:
(1) Earned a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.500 on all course work attempted at all institutions of higher education; (Note: Grades deleted through repeat/delete and academic renewal will not be included.)
(2) Completed a minimum of 45 semester hours at Delgado Community College; and
(3) Completed 12 of the final 15 semester hours in required courses at Delgado Community College.
4. Cancellation
This policy and procedures memorandum cancels DCI 1414.1, Graduation with Honors, dated March 7, 1990.
