    Status of Fall 2002 Delgado students who transferred in Fall of 2003
     
     
    According to data received from the La. Board of Regents, 894 Delgado students that
    were enrolled in Fall 2002, transferred to a four­year institution by Fall 2003. Sixty­
    seven percent were female, 33% male. African Americans made up 34%, Hispanics 5%
    and white students made up 44%. Freshmen made up 47%, and 9.4% were first time
    freshmen. Overall 78% were in good academic standing.
     
    The most significant statistic for us is that the longer students remain at Delgado, the
    better their chances for success at a four­year college. Seventy­four percent of freshmen
    were in good standing where as 81 % of sophomores and up were in good standing.
     
    By transfer institutions, students who transferred to LSU Baton Rouge had the highest
    percentage of students in good standing (88%). UNO has the lowest with 73%.
     
    By major, Computer Network Technology majors and Criminal Justice majors had the
    highest percentage a students in Good Standing at 86%. Fine Arts and Electrical­
    Electronics Engineering Technology majors had the lowest at 57 %.
