III.   Minutes of Meeting – February 11, 2005

The Minutes of the meeting of February 11 were moved for acceptance with amendment to the first sentence, paragraph 1, page 2, which should read: “ Dr. Adelsberg expressed appreciation to Dr. Smith for sharing his thoughts, in writing, about the committee’s recommendations”.

 


IV.   Debbie Lea’s Report

The one item recommended at the last meeting was approved by the Vice Chancellor for Learning and Student Development, Dr. Jeffery Smith:

       Change in number of contact hours from 30 to 45 in MSTH 114 Pathology for Massage Therapy

 

V.   Old Business

A new “draft” PPM Policy on Academic Diplomas and Certificates of Completion (taking into account the TCA Transfer Requirement Sub-committee’s recommendations) was distributed, and will be an agenda item for the March 11 meeting.

     a.  Change “INTD 105 Introduction to Interior Design” name and number change to INTD 131 Design I in

all Prerequisite listings.

   Rationale:  Return to the previous course name for program consistency and cross-referencing

   with VISC 131 Design I.

     b.  Delete “131” as a prerequisite for INTD 151 Interior Design II.

         Rationale:  Redundant and unnecessary.

     c.  Delete “INTD 125” as a prerequisite for INTD 201 Interior Design III.

        Rationale:  Redundant and unnecessary.

     d.  Delete “INTD 151 or permission of instructor,” as prerequisites for INTD 242 Computers for Interior Design.

   Rationale:  INTD 242 Computers for Interior Design is an option for CADD 201 Introduction to CAD. INTD 125 Drafting for Interior Design should be the only prerequisite.

     e.  Delete “INTD 125” as a prerequisite for INTD 251 Interior Design IV.

       Rationale:  Redundant and unnecessary.

     f.  Delete “INTD 105 and INTD 125” as prerequisites for INTD 260 Color for Interior Space.

   Rationale:  Students are better served if they can apply the knowledge gained from INTD 260 Color for Interior Space to all of the studio courses in the program.

     g.  Delete “INTD 151 and INTD 125,”and add “INTD 141” as a prerequisite for INTD 270 Lighting Design.

   Rationale:  Redundant and students are better served if they can apply the knowledge gained from INTD 270 Lighting Design to studio courses earlier in the program.

     h.  Delete “INTD 201” and add “INTD 131” as a prerequisite for INTD 274 Interior Construction Systems.

   Rationale:  Students are better served if they can apply the knowledge gained from INTD 274 Interior Construction Systems to studio courses earlier in the program.

staff and family handbooks. Students observe, practice and intern under experienced EC administrators Prerequisite: ECED 105 or 111 or permission of instructor.
