Upon graduation I was asked to come to a meeting at Delgado for which I had to leave work. When I arrived I
was one of many students sent away because the class was full. I left my name and number and was never
contacted. Every time I tried to contact the school I was given the run around. I do not wish to walk or
participate in a graduation but would like my degree. Yet, I still do not have my Degree. Please help me get my
degree which I have earned.
I have yet to receive my diploma. I have filled out all of the necessary paperwork; I have paid the fee and
taken the exit exam on the computer. I live in a different state now, so it is not convenient for me to come to
campus. I have gotten no luck over the phone. Could you please let me know if there was a step I have
forgotten and if not, please send me my diploma! Thanks.
I really enjoyed my time at DCC and all of the experiences that the college exposed to me. Disappointed in the
fact that I remain unemployed is tempered by the great job my Delgado instructors did in preparing me for a
four-year institution. Thank you Delgado.
I'd like to say thanks to Delgado for giving me what I needed to start doing what I like the most cooking, and
getting good money. At first I was a little nervous because I started college so late in age. I was 39 years old
and all I thought was that this is for young people. But, I had the wrong feeling. I had to tell myself that I was
young, too. So, I prayed and asked God to help me and He did. Now, I am the first in my family to have a
college education. I'd like to say thanks to Dr Bartholomew (Director) for always being there for me and a big
thanks to Chef Carl and Chef Nancy for taking me under there wing until I got my own. Last but not least, Chef
Lou for being a good friend and also Janet (secretary) for always being there. Love you guys.
Most of my credits from Delgado did not transfer to the University of North Texas at Dallas campus.
Due to the training I received at Delgado, I was hired 3 months before graduation. I really love all the attention
and care I received and not only am I planning on going back for my associates degree, but I have referred
Delgado to many friends and family members. Thanks so much for everything!.
I value the education I received at Delgado; it prepared me better than 4-year college. I only know this
because I came to Delgado after I received a 4-year degree. I found a job after graduating from Delgado in
less than 2 weeks. I never found a job with my 4-year degree and I still was making a dollar or two over
minimum wage. After graduating from Delgado I moved to another tax bracket. I now make between $53,000 -
69,000 a year. Thank you for preparing me and opening doors that enable me to better my life. I'm presently
working toward a master's in Business Administration- Health Care Management.
I checked in to several colleges about continuing my education and was informed that they would not accept
my credits.
I still haven't received my certificate of completion for the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program. I paid the
graduation fees and all the other ridiculous "Fees". I would really appreciate it if you could mail my certificate to
me or at least mail or call me with info on how to get it. I will need this certificate to authenticate my
professional credentials. Your immediate attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. I completed
the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program in July 2005. Fell free to contact the Nuclear Medicine Technology
Program to verify my enrollment and completion.

I am employed by USDA Federal Grain Inspection Service as a secretary for the past 28 years. I chose to
continue my education in order to advance and increase my salary. "HOORAY" - I'm in the process of
receiving a promotion. My continuing education was a contributing factor. Question #14: I disagreed because
one of my teachers was very hard to get in touch with, even thru e-mail. It was a Visual Basic course. I don't
think the instructor teaches at City Park anymore. Question #20: I disagreed because my advisor always
seemed to be in a hurry because other students were waiting. He seemed to just want to schedule my classes
and be finished. Maybe he didn't like older students. Anyway, I'm happy my diploma helped me get promoted.
Katrina, SUNO has dropped its business administration degree program. Financially and emotionally I am
working on getting my house back in order. I will return to get my bachelor's degree in the near future.
I feel the instructor in the Radiology department is inadequate. He would teach one thing and the next day
change what he said and after the tests were back change what he said again. ( Even thought we had
everything recorded.) We (the class) discussed this with the department and nothing was done. I believe it is
unfair for any paying student to suffer through his class. He is also disrespectful to students. Other than this, I
feel my time at Delgado was a good experience.
The reason I answered question #'s 20 and 21 with Strongly disagree is that I did not like the way I was
advised. When it was time for me to graduate, I was 3 hours short. I had to take a fine arts class. My
graduation day was set for May 2005 because I was poorly advised. You all would not let me graduate until
December 2005 which turned into May 2006. I feel you should not make someone wait until next graduation
date because they are short 3 hours (fine arts). I should have been able to participate in my graduation and
come back to take 3 hours. I know of school such as Xavier would not let you participate because you are
short 3 hours.
I believe that attending the Radiologic Technology program at Delgado was my best choice ever. That
program allowed me to be very well prepared and educated in my profession. I was very pleased with my
experience there. I believe Delgado has one of the best Allied Health Programs in Louisiana.
Thank you for 3 years of success in my life. If it wasn't for Delgado and for Funeral Services I don't know what I
would be doing now. Y'all have made my dreams come true. Thank You!
I have had a wonderful experience at DCC. The Radioligic Technology program is great and very well
constructed and organized. The teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful. The only objection I have is that
there are too many students in the program each year. The field is flooded and will continue to be if Delgado
puts out 50 Rad. Tech's each year. My overall experience has been amazing and I couldn't' be happier with
my career decision.
I was never advised and followed my own plan. This was better than friends who did use an advisor. I have
been trying since May to get my diploma mailed to me and I haven't received it yet!
Thanks to Ms. Bettie Abbatte and Dr Jerry Sickes for all of their help! I am a LA State licensed arborist/
Horticulturist an landscape contractor because of the Delgado Horticulture program. I plan on getting a 4year
degree in Horticulture a soon as I can find out about transferable courses from Delgado to either LSU or SLU.
Thanks everybody. Thank you Delgado.

I really like my program and my instructor. I was so thankful for them and for their efforts. They are so flexible
and helpful.
I feel that the Allied Health department at Delgado is one of the best career oriented disciplines offered.
However, there is one need that is imperative to the future success. More specifically the Physical Therapist
Asst. program needs more equipment to enhance the learning experience of the students visual aides and
hands-on practice is lacking dramatically. Thank you.
I had such an awful year, because my advisors were not up to par. They were unconcerned about my
decisions. I had problems with my course credits. I needed one class to graduate and that took forever to
happen. It took me forever to graduate because of my advisors whom steered me in the wrong direction. I do
not like my job because the pay is not enough, but I love to help people in any way that I can. Delgado, please
take time to listen to the students. Help them to make wise decisions concerning their careers.
When I originally started the program I had great teaches such as Melody Hassel, Ray tinsel, and Kim
Mercadel and of course Ms. Sandy! Towards the end of the program the were some unfortunate changes
pertaining to new staffing. At least one which was totally clueless. Also, some students were an
embarrassment to the program; they failed classes and still managed to pass. The program needs to be what
it was - strict. Some of us worked very hard to pass. It is not right to pass those who don't deserve it, no matter
what some superiors think.
The Nuclear Medicine program taught me what I needed to know for my license but the teacher would
sometimes not have answers for us and wouldn't try to find the answers for us, but I passed so, it paid off. The
financial aid office never called me back. I left several messages. It took forever to get things taken care of
and settled.
I am extremely satisfied with my education form Delgado. The courses are very comparable to UNO's courses.
I have told several high school students about my experience at Delgado and they are very interested in
Delgado. Delgado's reputation is getting stronger because of the administration and professor's. I would
consider leaving the library open longer or providing a cafe' with longer hours to promote study on campus.
Overall, Delgado is a great school and I hope that it continues in its track. Thanks.
Overall, I feel that the Radiation therapy program at Delgado was successful in its purpose. I do have a
concern however. With Hurricane Katrina, I lost the job promised to me upon graduation because the hospital
no longer exists. Since then I have worked at two out-of-town hospitals finally being fortunate enough to get a
great job at West Jefferson Medical Center ( The first and only full time opening in the city for a Radiation
therapist since the hurricane!) However, the salaries now offered are significantly lower than Pre-Katrina. My
point is this. I think the program should be suspended in order to allow this job market to open up again.
There are other experienced therapist in the city (i.e. form Charity, Baptist, etc.) still looking for jobs I see no
point in continuing the program with no job opening in the city.
I chose to continue my education at DCC for 2 reasons: 1) I got my business degree with plans to open my
own bar and grill. 2) I am continuing my education to become a registered nurse. My plan is to work as a
registered nurse during the day and go into business with a friend in which I will be a silent partner for example
run the show behind the scene, doing book work, and place orders.

I graduated on 8/09/05. We did not receive diplomas due to Katrina. Please let me know how to obtain my
radiation therapist diploma. Thank you.
In the online classes and learning labs whenever I tried to contact my instructor via e-mail, she never
responded. The timing on online tests are unrealistic if one has a slow computer. Learning labs and libraries
need to be open later to accommodate working students.
I graduated from LSU Baton Rouge with a bachelor's degree before entering Delgado's Nuclear Medicine
program.
We need more opportunities to use critical thinking to connect the concepts.
I have called repeatedly to have my degree sent to me. I have still not received it. Please have my degree
sent.
The education that I received at Charity School of Nursing was excellent. I was definitely prepared to take state
boards and to begin my career as an RN. One day I hope to continue my education and teach at Charity.
Attending nursing school was the best decision I have ever made.
I feel that Charity was successful in preparing me to take my nursing boards, but not so much to become an
RN. I have learned a lot by "doing" since leaving school. I would also like to take this time to say that Charity
needs some serious evaluation of its administrative offices, including financial aid. Each and every one of the
administrative employees are disorganized, inept and above all "rude" in their treatment of the nursing
students. This was my experience from the beginning all the way up to my graduation day. Where, instead of
spending it with my family from out of town, I was sent on a wild goose chase around Charity School of
Nursing. Thanks for the opportunity to give my opinion.
Most of my knowledge came from being an LPN/LVN for 15 years prior to nursing school at Charity. I felt that
Charity School of Nursing was still trying to cram the three year diploma program down our throats in two years.
Also, I want you to know that only 6 of 19 Charity students passed the HESI exit exam at El Centro College in
Dallas. Nineteen of us fourth level student nurses finished out El Centro in Dallas. I want to praise Lenetra
Jefferson for her knowledge and practicality. I would also like to express my disappointment with my instructor
for who taught Parent-Child nursing. She was very insensitive and down right rude one day in spring 2005
when she callously and coldly suggested to many people in a classroom doorway that three friends of mine all
recently died of AIDS. She later said that I remind her of her first boyfriend who had my eyes and left her at the
alter because he was so gay.
