Change of Degree Designation
: Certificate of Technical Studies in
Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Change the degree designation of the
Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) in Diagnostic Medical
Sonography from Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) in Diagnostic
Medical Sonography to Post-Associate Certificate (PAC), Diagnostic
Medical Sonography. The change has been initiated in response to a
new reporting element in Master Course Inventory maintained by the
Board of Regents for Louisiana Higher Education. Total program
hours, program curriculum, and entrance requirements remain the
same. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be
awarded a Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

student as a professional. Prerequisite knowledge of topics introduced
in HORT-101: General Horticulture is not necessary for success in
HORT-120.

Horticultural Internship I. Modify the prerequisite requirement of
HORT-151: Horticultural Internship I to state: “HORT-101: General

Propagation OR HORT-113: Environmental Landscape Improvement
I.” Prerequisite currently states: “HORT-101: General Horticulture.”
This course allows the student to work in an industry job in one of
many areas of the green industry. HORT-101: General Horticulture
along with HORT-110: Soil Science will give the student the base
knowledge to apply for an entry-level position in the green industry. If
the student will be working in a greenhouse, it will be helpful to have
taken HORT-112: Plant Propagation as plant propagation is the focus
of greenhouse management. However, if a student is interning in the
landscaping field, HORT-113: Environmental Landscape Improvement

would be a better choice, as the course provides basic knowledge for the
landscaping field.
