Fall 2009 Graduate Follow-up Survey Comments
I
am
grateful
for
my
education
in
occupational
therapy
assistance.
I
really
enjoy
my
job;
it
is
interesting
as
well
as
rewarding.
Dr.
Kelly
was
a
very
important
part
of
my
education
and
she
did
a
great
job.
I
think
Delgado's
architecture
program
needs
to
work
with
the
other
architecture
programs
in
Louisiana,
so
that
the
architecture
credits
could
transfer.
Most
of
Delgado's
architecture
credits
are
not
accepted
at
the
school
of
architectures.
After
graduation
with
my
Associate
in
business
me
and
my
husband
are
now
starting
a
family.
I
plan
to
go
back
to
school
this
January
continuing
my
education
at
UNO.
All
the
teachers
were
very
helpful
in
helping
me
strive
to
complete
the
Business
Administration
program,
but
one
teacher
that
really
comes
to
mind
was
Mr.
Tuhro.
He
went
above
and
beyond
my
expectations
in
all
the
courses
I
took
with
him.
Although
my
course
work
at
Delgado
was
excellent
and
prepared
me
very
well
to
take
my
registry
exam,
I
was
not
prepared
as
well
in
the
clinical
aspect
of
my
studies.
I
did
my
clincals
at
St
Tammany
Hospital
in
Covington.
Charity
was
hard,
but
worth
it.
Delgado
Charity
School
of
Nursing
provided
excellent
education
in
my
major.
Although
I
am
currently
unemployed
and
have
not
yet
worked
under
my
major
title
I
am
proud
to
have
acquire
my
education
in
this
college.
The
market
is
tough
at
this
moment.
Delgado
Community
College
has
a
wonderful
program
of
studies
that
helped
me
with
my
career.
Delgado
has
a
wonderful
massage
program
and
Sally
Raymond
is
unmatched
in
professionalism
and
attentiveness
to
the
needs
of
everybody
in
the
program.
Delgado
is
an
excellent
educational
institution!
It
really
prepares
students
for
the
workforce.
I
loved
my
time
at
Delgado.
The
only
reason
that
I
am
not
currently
employed
is
due
to
the
fact
that
I
have
just
moved
back
home.
Delgado
is
the
most
disorganized
school
I
have
ever
seen.
The
programs
are
awful,
and
my
professor
lied
to
me,
leaving
me
with
a
$300.00
charge.
If
you
want
to
know
what
happened
I
would
love
to
tell
you.
Delgado
Needs
to
Update
Classroom
Technology!
I'm
also
presently
doing
substitute
teaching
at
an
elementary
public
schools
in
the
Slidell,
Pearl

Area.
I'm
working
PRN,
WORK
is

right
now.
I
am
completing
some
courses
at
Delgado
to
enter
the
HEALTH
STUDIES
BACHELORS
program
at
SLU
in
Hammond.
This
is
a
step
I
have
to
take
prior
to
entering
the
MOT
at
LSU.
I
love
my
job
&
want
to
learn
more.

I
already
have
a
Bachelor
Degree.
I
received
an
Associate
of
Fire

for
my
career
goals
and
I
also
obtained
Paramedic
from
Delgado.
I
am
a
very
determined
person
whom
has
been
through
a
lot,
it
is
unreal
with
my
medical
issues
that
I
completed
this
program.
I
completed
the
program
and
I
am
doing
so
well
with
management,
decision

communication
and
so
forth.
I
am
drafting
for
HVAC/plumbing
designs
for
schools,
stores
and
other
public
facilities.
I
am
glad
that
I
pursued
this
education
and
it
did
open
my
communication
skills.
It
was
very
difficult
to
get
help
outside
the
classroom.
Some
days
I
felt
that
it
was
a
self
teaching
program.
I
am
very
proud
of
my
degree
fom
Delgado!!
It
made
me
realize
that
I
really
can
do
it.
Two
of
my
instructors
were
the
best
and
I
will
never
forget
them
(Mary
Johnson
and
Lisa
Melson).
Thanks
you
so
much
for
giving
me
the
knowledge
I
needed
to
succeed.
I
applied
to
and
received
admissions
into
Xavier,
Tulane
and
Loyola.
I
received
the
$10,000
Phi
Theta
Kappa
scholarship
at
Tulane.
However,
I
chose
to
go
to
Loyola
because
they
offered
me
the
most
money
(
a
Loyola
grant
worth
$13,500).
I
entered
school
under
General
Studies.
I
was
told
I
had
to
pick
a
major,
but
an
advisor
wasn't
at
the
Slidell
school
at
the
time.
So
I
picked
Accounting.
Most
jobs
out
there
require
a

If
I
would

that
I
would
of
picked

the

The
instructors
were
amazing
and
truly
care
about
each
student
and
their

They
never
made
me
feel
like
a

I
graduated
with
an
associate

in

with
a

in

I
have
no

are

I
will
be
coming
back
to
complete
the

program
because
that's
what
I've
always
wanted
to
do.
I
had
an
excellent
experience
with
most
of
the
teachers
and
actually
appreciate
the
way
Delgado
does
things
(such
as
providing

compared
to
UNO!
I
have
been
trying
to
contact
Delgado
about
my
diploma.
Is
it
possible
to
have
it
mailed
to
me?
Do
I
have
to
come
pick
it
up?
Please
let
me
know!
I
have
not
had
any
luck
with
finding
a

I
have
been

I
was
fortunate

I
was
always
pleased

the

do
not

very
unorganized!!!!!!!!
There
are
never

I
was
impressed
with
the

I
felt
it

I

Fall 2009 Graduate Follow-up Survey Comments
My
time
at
DCC
was
great.
All
of
my
instructors
were
well
educated
in
the
subjects
they
were
teaching
me.
The
only
thing
that
was
heart
breaking
was
finding
a
school
to
take
as
many
of
my
transferring
credits
as
possible.
Online
courses
were
poorly
instructed.
The
majority
of
time
it
was
just
me
and
the
textbook.
The
program
prepared
me
for
my
Nursing
career.
More
clinical
experience,
experience
with
charts
(checking
off
orders),
interaction
with
MDs
doing
rounds,
and
time
management
practice
could
be
helpful
for
future
nursing
students.
PTA
program
is
a
great
program
that
prepares
its
students
very
well
for
their
careers
and
quality
of
care
to
their
patients.
Some
of
the
people
that
work
in
the
Enrollment,
Register's,
and
Bursar's
offices
have
very
bad
attitudes!
They
don't
know
what
they
are
doing
or
how
to
help
you.
I
had
to
do
a
lot
of
stuff
myself
on
the
internet.
Thankfully,
my
teachers
were
all
great.
THANK
GOD
FOR
MR.
LUCIA!
The
enrollment
and
scheduling
process
at
DCC
is
very
complicated
&
stressful.
9
out
of
10
times
the
people
you
have
to
deal
within
the
scheduling
process
are
agitated
and
unfriendly.
Steps
to
improve
this
DCC
staff
‐
student
relationship
would
be
helpful.
The
fire
technology
program
was
fine,
but
the
EMT
Basic
program
is
a
joke.
The
instructors
need
to
remember
that
they
are
there
for
the
students
and
almost
all
of
the
students
are
adults
with
busy
lives.
The
instructors
really
prepared
me
with
the
knowledge
and
skills
to
complete
the
Surgical
Tech.
Program
and
they
really
worked
with
me
when
I
had
to
miss
class/tests
due
to
my
military
obligations.
I
am
furthering
my
education.
The
Occupational
Therapy
Assistant
program
is
overall
a
good
program.
I
found
the
fieldwork
and
field
trips
the
most
beneficial.
It
would
be
hard
to
coordinate
but
have
a
trip
to
a
general
hospital
to
see
how
things
work
(especially
in
the
ICU).
The
only
suggestion
I
can
make
to
the
nursing
clinical
experience
would
be
to
train
the
students
better
time
management
skills.
While
at
Charity
I
only
cared
for
a
maximum
of
two
patients
at
one
time
(and
it
was
only
1
time).
